Providencia Chile

Providencia is a commune in Chile, situated in Santiago Province in the Santiago Metropolitan Region. It has many high‑rise apartment blocks and a significant share of Santiago’s commercial activity. It’s known for its large, old, elegant houses, once home to Santiago’s elite and now mostly used as offices. The municipality also hosts many embassies, including those of Poland, Italy, France, Egypt, Russia, Japan, China and Uruguay. Providencia includes Barrio Suecia, an area full of pubs and nightclubs, and Barrio Bellavista, a bohemian quarter popular with artists and performers. The northern part of Providencia is its financial and commercial district. Other notable places of interest in Providencia include the Metropolitan Zoo and the Teleférico, which carried people from the foot of Pedro de Valdivia Norte Street to the top of San Cristóbal Hill.
