FLY & DRIVE: Lazio and Tuscany

Arrival at Rome airport/station and pick up the rental car. Departure to the reserved hotel and check-in. In the afternoon, visit the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Capitoline Hill and the 'centro storico' of Rome (historic center). Second day of visit dedicated to Rome, the Vatican: visit to St. Peter's Square and the Basilica, one of the most important basilicas of Christianity and the Vatican Museums with the Sistine Chapel. Later, visit the Basilicas of Santa Maria Maggiore, and the Basilica of Saint John Lateran. Dinner on your own and accommodation.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer on your own by car to Tivoli. Discover two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Villa d’Este and Hadrian's Villa. Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer on your own by car to Florence. Arrival and check-in at the hotel. Subsequently, walking tour of Florence, you can choose to see the “must-see” highlights, such as the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio, Church of San Lorenzo, Brunelleschi Dome, Palazzo Pitti or choose to discover the most popular Florentine area called “Oltrarno”. Dinner on your own and hotel accommodation.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer by car to the Chianti region to combine Chianti wine with the wonderful Tuscan countryside. Travel to the outskirts of Florence and spend the afternoon at a charming castle winery in the Chianti Florentino region and in an old winery in the Chianti Senese, with expert guides in local wines. At both wineries tour the cellars, hear the secrets of Tuscan wine making, and then taste the prestigious Tuscan wine along with some traditional Italian snacks. In the evening return to your hotel in Florence and overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer by your drive to La Spezia to get lost in the magical world of Cinque Terre. Explore the five villages suspended on steep cliffs above the sea, where the vegetation and lush vineyards frame an impressive setting. Journey through the hills of the Tuscany and hop on a regional train. Stroll along picturesque beaches and try the delicious local limoncello, a regional specialty. Transfer by car to Pisa to discover an elegant city, explore the main square, Piazza dei Miracoli to see the Baptistery and the legendary Leaning Tower of Pisa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Pisa Duomo to learn about its history. Afternoon stroll in nearby Lucca, one of Tuscany's lesser-known gems. Enjoy a walking tour, seeing the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, the Lucca Cathedral and finishing with a slice of 'buccellato', the characteristic cake of Lucca. In the afternoon return to your hotel in Florence and accommodation.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer on your own by car to Siena, one of the most beautiful medieval cities. Visit of Piazza del Campo, which is the heart of the city, visit the Public Palace and the Chapel, Marble Tabernacle that appears at the foot of the Torre del Mangia in Piazza del Campo. Visit of the Duomo, the main place of Catholic worship in Siena and the Baptistery, a work sculpted by different artists. Later, transfer to San Gimignano, a small fortified town that, due to its architecture and beautiful medieval towers, has been registered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Walk through the Duomo and Cisterna squares, and then you can do some shopping in San Calle Giovanni among the local shops and products.
