La Paz Bolivia

La Paz is the largest city in Bolivia and serves as the hub for commerce, finance, and industry. It is one of the highest cities in the world. The metropolitan area of La Paz begins with El Alto, where the airport is located on the flat Altiplano, making it one of the highest airports in the world. The city's main square is Plaza Murillo, named after Pedro Domingo Murillo, a Bolivian freedom fighter. A 3-meter high monument of Murillo stands in the center of the square, at the exact location where he was hanged in 1810. Plaza Murillo is surrounded by some of La Paz's most iconic buildings, including the Cathedral, the Government Palace, and the Legislative Palace. The El Prado area is home to several interesting museums, such as the Contemporary Art Plaza Museum, the Nuñez de Arco Photographic Museum, and the National Museum of Archaeology. La Paz is a captivating city where Aimara and Spanish cultures coexist. It is the most fascinating city in Bolivia.
