Assisi is a town and municipality in Italy, located in the province of Perugia in the Umbria region, on the western side of Monte Subasio. It's a superb medieval city with narrow, enchanting streets. MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS • Piazza Matteotti: Cross the street and head down towards the San Rufino Cathedral, which likely has the most stunning facade of all the churches in town. • Via San Rufino: Here, you'll find a small fountain known as the "lions fountain".
