Trichy India

Tiruchirappalli, commonly known as Tiruchi or Trichy, is a major city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and the administrative headquarters of Tiruchirappalli district. It is the fourth-largest city in the state, as well as the fourth-largest urban area. Trichy is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in India, with written history going back to the 3rd century BC, when it was ruled by the Cholas. The city is home to the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, one of India’s most prestigious engineering universities. Major industrial employers include Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), the Golden Rock Railway Workshop, Ordnance Factory Tiruchirappalli (OFT) and the Heavy Alloy Penetrator Project (HAPP).
